Alison and Andrew are engaged and once you see their images, you’ll see the love all over their smiling faces!! Alison has this beautiful vintage look to her and we can’t wait to see her in her wedding dress this fall. Alison and Andrew are a little shy at first, but tucked away in Charlotte’s ‘secret’ garden they felt a bit more at ease. Or they fooled us, either way we ended up with some stunning images, and we can’t wait for November.
We found this wonderful overhang and set up a flash behind Andrew’s foot. We aimed it at the concrete wall behind them and created a silhouette. There was just enough shadow to crush the ambient light. We love this image because it shows that even in the middle of the day (it was probably 3pm?) we could make it look like middle of the night. Photography is just the coolest thing.
Juxtaposition is something that inspires me. I love seeing two things that may not go together working in perfect harmony. Like their classy clothes, and put together-ness, combined with this crazy chaos graffiti.
It was the perfect day, with weather that would have done April 25th proud, and everything was blooming.
And there were willow trees. Is there anything more romantic?! Probably my inner Disney fan having Pocahontas flashbacks but I’m loving every image from the willow trees. Oh Grandmother Willow, you are GOOOOOOOD.
Alison and Andrew had one of their first dates at The Evening Muse so it was a must stop while we were in Noda.
The sock game was strong! Ok I just noticed his socks but I love this image regardless! We tried something a bit outside the box and we love the result.
A HUGE THANK YOU to the McGill Rose Garden for their wonderful staff and letting us in for the engagement session. It was the perfect backdrop and we can’t wait to come back. Alison + Andrew, we are so happy that you’re engaged and we are humbled that you have chosen us to share in your story. Cheers!
